What is Low-Level Laser Therapy?

Low-Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) is a non-invasive light source treatment that generates a single wavelength of light to supply energy to the body in the form of non-thermal photons of light. Wavelengths between 660 nanometers (nm) and 905nm can penetrate the skin and soft/hard tissues to affect pain, inflammation, and tissue repair positively.

The MicroLight Smart Laser, with a patented wavelength of 830nm, transmits a single wavelength concentrated into one location penetrating the skin's layers 2-4" into the subcutaneous tissue. The effects optimize the immune responses of our blood, having both anti-inflammatory and immunostimulating effects by supplying vital oxygen and energy to every cell. LLLT can produce significant results in Physiotherapy, enhancing other treatments by reducing inflammation, providing pain relief, accelerating tissue regeneration, and stimulating cell reproduction.

What to expect from LLLT Treatment?

The MicroLight Smart Laser is a Class IIIb cold laser with 90 milliwatts (mW) power output that does not create a heating sensation during treatment. Some patients may notice a minor tingling or tapping in the nerve or along a nerve pathway or sense a slight feeling of warmth, but the treatment is not noticeable for most.

Following, and sometimes during a laser therapy session, approximately 75-80% of patients notice an immediate improvement in their condition. The experience depends primarily on the specific treatment and the severity of the treated condition. Many patients have seen results in as little as 4-5 treatments, while others may require 15-20.

According to published medical reports, many acute and chronic conditions may be improved or eliminated with laser therapy.
