Why You Should Use Chiropractic for Low Back Pain Treatment

Written By Levinson Chiropractic & Vax-D Therapy on February 14, 2018

Back pain isn't easy to live with.

While there are various ways to treat low back pain, many come with inevitable side effects. Others just manage the pain temporarily instead of eradicating it.

You may have even exhausted all options when looking into how to treat it.

Chiropractic uses manual or instrumentation spinal manipulation to treat low back pain. Spine Health explains that the use of chiropractic treatment on lower back pain involves manual manipulation of the spine.

The result and goal of this treatment are multi-faceted. Firstly, you can experience improved function of your spine.

Secondly, spinal manipulation can reduce irritation of the nerves.

Thirdly, you can expect to have your range of motion restored. A commonly used term in the chiropractic field for this application is “chiropractic adjustment.”

It is recommended that this care is applied early for lower back pain, for best results.

Another technique used alongside chiropractic is VAX-D therapy. WebMD explains that VAX-D therapy is a decompression of the spine. It is implemented by intermittently stretching and relaxing the lower spine. This, in turn, relieves pressure on vertebrae in the back.

This is executed by having the patient lie on a computerized table. With a harness in place around the pelvis, the table is then gently opens up for a minute, then closes for 30 seconds. This will bring the fluid and nutrients in from the surrounding area to help rehydrate the discs

Both chiropractic techniques and VAX-D therapy are beneficial, non-traditional alternatives to any low back pain you are currently experiencing.

They can efficiently assist in the relief of low back pain by providing gentle treatment that is non-invasive.
