Whiplash Treatment: The Solution is Chiropractic

Written By Levinson Chiropractic & Vax-D Therapy on April 16, 2018

Sometimes accidents can do more damage than you realize.

When you are involved in an accident, you usually look for apparent injuries. Physical injury, however, can manifest hours, days or even weeks afterward. Severe neck damage like whiplash can be an ongoing problem.

Chiropractic is a non-traditional treatment, working with the body unobtrusively.

The primary treatment for whiplash in a chiropractic setting is spinal manipulation. This consists of the chiropractor gently manipulating the damaged joint towards the direction that it is restricted.

The chiropractic approach to whiplash treatment is two-fold. Firstly, the chiropractor will gently stretch the muscle if it has excessive tension. Secondly, they will contract the muscle repeatedly if it is inhibited.

If the muscle is suffering from a high level of tension, the chiropractor will apply more pressure to vigorously stretch it.

Treat Whiplash with Chiropractic Care

Chiropractic is a successful way to treat injuries like whiplash for ongoing, lasting results.

A study was conducted on the effectiveness of chiropractic treatment for injuries such as whiplash. 28 patients were assessed on their condition both before and after the respective treatment.

Out of the participating 28, 26 were found to have considerably improved symptoms following chiropractic care. This is an outcome of 93% - an encouraging result in favor of chiropractic treatment for the effective relief of symptoms relating to whiplash.

It is worth noting that there currently isn’t a conventional treatment that has proven to be effective when caring for sufferers of whiplash. This is a concern when many patients experience long-term symptoms.
